Acacia Kersey Announces She’s Quitting Influencer Role After “Immense Amount of Damage”

Influencer Acacia Kersey has sign off. Following more than 2 months of being off of her social media platforms The 23-year-old mom of three who has accrue nearly 23 million YouTube views on YouTube as a popular, came back online with the following announcement: “I am leaving my role as an ‘influencer’ indefinitely.”

In Instagram posts posted on Wednesday, September. 29 Acacia shared the numerous reasons for her decision. “This role has done an immense amount of damage to me, my relationships, my financial stability and my view of the world,” she wrote. “Fear has been keeping me here for longer than I can even admit. Fear of what would happen if I stopped bringing in money, fear of what I could even offer the world, fear of who I am without this because [sic] it’s all I’ve ever known.”

The star of social media said the following “exhausted on all fronts, living in auto pilot online.” She admitted, “I was living with an empty cup while still doing my best to fill the cups of those around me and I could not operate like that for long. I lived a majority of my life in a place. I didn’t want to be in and made a lot of decisions that I probably wouldn’t make again.”

Acacia also shared a glimpse of the things. She’s been working on in the past few months since posting her first Instagram posting in July. She also shared a few details about her life, revealing that she and her husband. Jairus Kersey have relocated from the United States to Oregon and are searching for the perfect “forever” home while she is a stay at-home mom. “Our lifestyle, relationships, spending habits, goals, practically everything we once knew,” she said, “has changed.”

In a statement, she said it was one of the most difficult choices she’s ever taken, Acacia was also adamant that her decision to step down from her position was at the same time “the easiest & most freeing things I’ve ever done since it meant a better life of for myself & my family.”

But she doesn’t completely exclude returning. “Who knows, may one day I’ll make my way back here,” she said. “But I will not depend on social media for the survival of my family. It’s create a lot of unhealthy pressure and privilege. It’s about time to get rid of it.”

Acacia’s presence on the internet was not without controversy. She was in July when she came under accusations of stealing another artist’s filter for her photos. In a post on the Instagram Stories of her followers, Acacia told fans, “I had purchased @cherryphotoclub’s summer pack and fell in love, I was immediately obsessed with them and they had the exact tones I was missing but failed to make on my own. I wanted to recreate similar vibes with some of my presets. But by doing so, I took away business from my friend, @ashlevi and for that I’m so apologetic.”
